THE ENxP
ENTP- Ne, Ti,Fe, Si ( dominant, auxiliary, tertiary and inferior)
1. Ne dom ( Extroverted intuition): A function that helps us understand the world purely by ideas and possibilities.
This function literally THRIVES on ideas. It absorbs people’s opinions and thoughts and then tries to objectively find a connection between them. This function doesn’t really care much about the type of idea it produces. As long as Ne can find a link between two ideas, it will continue generating thoughts and ideas. This is one reason why you might find ENTPs and ENFPs as weird creatures.
Since it’s primary focus is on ideas, this function is also considered as the most introverted function among its extroverted cousins. Common characteristics: open-minded wrt ideas, flighty, random.
2. Introverted Thinking ( Ti): Only cares about the facts and ideas that come under it’s logical scale. Since it is an introverted function, it doesn’t give any regard to any logical explanation that doesn’t match with its. When Ti is high in your stack, you’ll find the need to learn more about the process or a situation so that YOU can come to a conclusion about it.
This conclusion might be completely different from what others or the society thinks but you wouldn’t give a damn about their thoughts. Common characteristics: Rule breaking ( like srsly, why should you follow something that doesn’t make sense?)
Independent, process oriented, lazy af ( since Ti is process-oriented, you can easily find the most simplest way of looking into things. But the only problem: it might not be the right thing according to your society) arrogant and ignorant to those who can’t understand your way of thinking, has a lot of trouble explaining things in a way people understand
3. Extroverted Feeling ( tert Fe): Yes, we care about what others think about us. When it comes to looking at things in an irrational manner, we tend to look outside. Being overly dominated by the first two functions, tert Fe in entps is pretty much weird. First, we absorb thoughts and people’s ideas from our surrounding ( Ne). Then we try to look into it from a logical perspective. We try to understand why people tend to act like the way they do. Then, we try to find a solution to it. ( Ti) .
Once again, we absorb the idea from our surrounding and this time, we try using tert fe ( technically mirror and understand their feelings, if that makes sense to you). Sometimes it goes so out of control that you might literally break down over something really silly ( don’t ask me how, it just happens). Common characteristics: Genuinely nice ( tries), a bit manipulative ( not emotionally, we would pretty much play around your thoughts till you unknowingly end up agreeing with us), keen interest on getting an emotional response from people, trying to get attention by doing something silly or really dumb, can be completely rational when we’re supposed to show feelings and be caring or be an emotional-wreck when all you have to do is think it through .
4. Introverted Sensing ( Inf Si) : If Ne makes your life 100 times easier by bringing the best of the best possibilities of a situation. Inf Si does the complete opposite: it ruins you ( well.. till you actually learn to use it.) It works pretty well when you’re looking at your surrounding and trying to find a way to connect something. It’ll create a beautiful memory book, which will be of great use on day ( provided you’re still working on the idea.) But, on the other hand, it can be absolutely horrible. You would forget to do day-to-day activities, you would have those weird paranoid moments when things are going just fine.
When you’re under extreme stress, it likes to kill you by bringing up all those embarrassing moments that you’ve never bothered thinking about. It creates a block in your thought process by pulling up past failures and how it could affect this scenario. Common characteristics: Can’t deal with day-to-day work, suddenly gets worried about petty things, not being able to commit, not being able to stick to one project, poor sensory awareness ( not as bad as Inf se)
ENFPs have Ne, Fi, Te and Si in that order. There’s also the shadow stack of an INFJ that follows Ni, Fe, Ti and and Se.
The fact that ENFPs are ruled by Ne as the dominant function means that for them, new ideas and new concepts are most stimulating. They are bored by repetitive tasks and ideas. They always want something new in life and something to keep them interested and occupied. They are very proud to boredom because of this. Besides being creative, Ne also enables them to read other people’s intentions and they can do so very skillfully. Because this is their dominant function, they are really talented when it comes to understand people’s plans and they can understand how people may react in certain situations very well.
They might come across as airheads but I assure you, they are really smart. They like being around ambitious, creative and potentially weird people.
They have secondary Fi, which means they have strong morals and emotional intelligence. They are motivated and make decisions by assessing their personal values: what matters most to them. They might sometimes alienate people if they don’t pay attention to the ENFP’s feelings especially if they’re close. Otherwise, Fi makes ENFPs kind and caring most of the time unless as long as they are operating healthily and are not in the infamous loops.
ENFPs have tertiary Te. This enables them to want to listen to other people’s ideas and thoughts. ENFPs like being around smart people and are stimulated by them but as this function is tertiary, they might not look like the kind of people who are good listeners and ENFPs themselves don’t actively need to listen to people’s thoughts.
Si is the inferior function in ENFPs and it is where their insecurity lies. They are insecure about what kind of treatment they get from others and their own comfort. Si users want to be comfortable in their environment and they are very insecure about it.
Because this is their insecurity, they range manipulated easily through this. If an ENFP’s insecurity is messed with, it will automatically make them them lash out and impulsive so that they may start acting like someone else. That’s how the inferior function works.
